When recipes call for pouring ingredients into a blender I tend to cringe. That just never goes smoothly for me. I drip things all over the counter, make a mess of the pot and the outside of the blender, loose a good amount of whatever I’m making… it’s just a disaster. I save my blender for smoothies. When I cook I instead use an immersion blender, or a stick blender.
How to Wash a Hand Blender
I’ve had this Cuisinart Smart Stick for 13 years and it has never failed me. It has 2 speeds (high and low) and works like a dream every time I plug it in. Washing it is also easy. I hand wash it but because it’s used in liquid soups and sauces that are steaming hot there’s usually never any scrubbing to do – just soap, rinse and set aside to dry.
Where to Buy an Immersion Blender
I highly recommend investing in one of these if you don’t already have one. Did I mention it’s also the fraction of the price of a full blender? I can’t find the white one on Amazon but the silver is just $55. You can find it here: Cuisinart Smart Stick 2-Speed Blender.
PS – Bonus use for your new stick blender… MILK SHAKES! Think of the possibilites…
